THE QUESTION

I am a 28 years old, male, married and have a 4 years old daughter. I am slowly destroying myself and I can't seem to stop. I over eat, drink sodas and eat junk food on a daily basis. I fear if I don't change my ways or reverse the damages, I may be done with life soon. That's not how I want to go. I want to live a healthy lifestyle and live to see my family grow up with me. Everytime I go on a diet, I come back to junk foods harder and all my weight goes back up and even crosses the maximum number I was before. I currently weight 140 kilograms. Is there any resource or guides that helped you stop overeating or cutting off junk foods? Please help! Before writing this post, I had two hot dogs with 5 fried chicken pieces. Now I am feeling immensely guilty. What to do?

TL;DR

Self-destructive patterns are common but overcoming them requires identifying contributing factors and implementing sustainable, evidence-based strategies to regain control and foster healthy habits.

THE RESPONSE

What’s actually going on here

We've all been there - that incredibly frustrating plateau where the scale just won't budge no matter how hard you're grinding. It's so easy to get discouraged and feel like you're just spinning your wheels. But the good news is, there are proven strategies to bust through that plateau and start seeing progress again. The root cause is often a combination of factors - your metabolism may have adapted to your current calorie intake, your exercise routine may have become too routine, and your body could be holding onto extra water weight. That's where frameworks like the Weekly Calorie Budget Method and the Plateau Reset System come in. By recalculating your numbers, implementing strategic calorie cycling, and evolving your exercise, you can reset your metabolism and get things moving again. Start by taking a hard look at your calorie intake. Are you accurately tracking everything? Try decreasing your daily calories by 200-300 for a week or two, then bump them back up. This "calorie budget" approach prevents your body from adapting. Next, give the Plateau Reset System a try - take a 5-7 day diet break to refuel and then gradually ramp your calories back down. And don't forget the Hydration Protocol - making sure you're drinking enough water is crucial for regulating metabolism and flushing out excess water weight. When you get these strategies dialed in, you'll start feeling the shift. The scale will budge, your energy will improve, and you'll break free of that frustrating plateau for good. Just stay patient, trust the process, and keep adjusting as needed. Before you know it, you'll be cruising toward your final goal weight.
